Group Events, Speaking Engagements & Retreats
The Sewing Room offers customized group sewing events for teams, parties, and community organizations—each designed to inspire creativity, collaboration, and connection. Whether you’re planning a corporate retreat, a celebration with friends, or a charity sewing day, our team curates engaging, hands-on experiences that bring people together through the art of making. In addition to hosting events, Owner, Jennifer Serr also speaks to schools, guilds, and organizations about sewing, creativity, fashion education, and textile sustainability, sharing insights that spark curiosity and encourage a deeper appreciation for mindful making.

Team Events
Aimed at organizations and businesses, this “Sewing for Teams” experience encourages participants to break out of their usual routines, tap into creativity, and collaborate through sewing and/or fashion-related activities.
Team events are 4-6 hours long and can be arranged for Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays from 9am-3pm September thru May. We can accommodate machine sewing for groups of 8 or hand sewing / fashion design for groups of 10-15.
Speaking
Jennifer Serr is an engaging and experienced speaker who brings warmth, expertise, and inspiration to every presentation. Drawing on her decades of experience as a fashion educator, designer, and founder of The Sewing Room, she speaks to audiences at high schools, guilds, and creative organizations about topics including fashion education, creativity, entrepreneurship, and textile sustainability. Her talks invite listeners to explore the connection between craft and community, encouraging a mindful approach to making and a renewed appreciation for the power of creativity to spark change.

The click of knitting needles, the hush of hot springs, the tumble of waterfalls — this journey weaves them all together into one unforgettable tapestry. Over six summer days in Iceland, quiet craft circles blend seamlessly with awe-inspiring exploration: seaside black sands, volcanic fields, cozy lagoons, the Golden Circle, and even a sheep farm where yarn traditions come alive. With generous moments for hand sewing, knitting, and slow creation, every stop unfolds like a thread stitched into the story you’ll take home. Designed with crafters, makers, and curious explorers in mind, this trip offers time to create, connect, and see the beauty of Iceland through a lens of artistry and wonder.
$3004/per person based on double occupancy with options to upgrade.
Parties
