Student of the Month
Meet Uma C.
Uma started taking classes in Fall and has been sewing up a storm ever since. I love her style and creative enthusiasm. for instance, she wanted to make the Bonjour Teaspoon Lilli Sailor cap but thought it was too pointy, and then thought that the points looked like cat ears. So she was determined to add cat ears and she did it! I also love this amazing camp she designed made while visiting her dad's work, where they have a sample making room. So cool.
Here is a little more about Uma in her own words:
My name is Uma. I’m 9 years old and in the 3rd grade at St. Philip Neri School.
Outside of sewing my interests are music, art, theater, reading, dancing, basketball, cooking, science and more!
My friend Jasmine inspired me to start sewing.
My favorite part about the clothes making process is the actual sewing. Also, everyone is friendly at the Sewing Room and welcoming. I love learning a new skill!
My Sewing goals are to make 4 complete outfits. I’ve made two already, and as extras I made a hat for me and tiny matching red shorts for my doll.
I would LOVE to have a career in fashion!! ! I feel talented at design and making things look beautiful.
