Classroom Format - Sewing Studio Time

Most of our classes at THE SEWING ROOM follow a Sewing Studio format.  Sewing Studio time is WEEKLY time in the workshop with an expert who will guide you through a project of your choice.  With the exception of Private Lessons & our Machine Basics classes, which are a shorter duration, each month-long session allows students to get enough hours of sewing time and instruction to complete a project. Students of all skill levels and project diversity are welcome. In all classes, students are guided through a project of their choice. Instruction is customized to each student's skill level. Students bring a project which includes a pattern, fabric and thread. They may also purchase something in our store. Our sewing experts come with a wealth of experience as well as a joy for teaching. We like to create an atmosphere of creative play and are here to make your sewing experience the best it can be.

This page is dedicated to our ongoing classes for Kids, Teens and Adults which are offered on a MONTHLY basis throughout the school year (and all year for Saturday Classes).  We also have workshops & specialty classes separate from our weekly classes.    Head on over to our Workshops page for more information.  If you are looking for all-day or multi-day sewing camps, head over to our Camp Schedule page for our schedule.

Please note: We do not have regular classes during school holidays. See Class Description in registration process specific dates.

“Just a couple of months ago I signed up for sewing classes with Jennifer. All I knew about sewing was how to sew in a straight line! Thanks to Jennifer's guidance, I have gained sooooooo much confidence, skill and enjoyment in sewing, that I have taken on sewing as my new favorite pastime. I just finished a purse and am making many sweet, soft baby items for myself and others. Next up, a party dress someday??? Jennifer is a kind, helpful and very skilled teacher. She has a diverse, accomplished, professional background in sewing and is very hip and up to date with her designs and fashion.I highly recommend her as your sewing teacher or as a teacher for your child. Don't miss this opportunity to learn such a fun and useful skill!”
